What should Elitra do?

When to use a post rewriter

Most posts that underperform are not bad ideas. They are good ideas with a slow start, too many words or a tone that does not fit. A rewriter fixes the writing without changing what you wanted to say.

Use it on a draft you wrote quickly, an old post you want to reshare, a caption that felt flat, or a post written for one platform that you want to adapt for another.

The four rewrite modes

Improve

Sharpens the hook, tightens the structure and strengthens the ending, while keeping your voice and facts. The best default for most drafts.

Shorten

Cuts the post to about half its length without losing the core point. Great for long drafts and for adapting a LinkedIn post to X.

Make it punchier

Shorter lines, stronger verbs and more tension in the first line. Use it when a post is clear but forgettable.

Change tone

Rewrites the post in a new tone: professional, bold, storytelling, witty or inspirational. Useful when the same message needs to land with a different audience.

What a better post looks like

Whatever mode you choose, the rewrite follows the same principles that make posts perform on LinkedIn and beyond:

  • The first line creates tension or curiosity instead of setting context.
  • One idea per post, with anything that does not support it removed.
  • Short lines and white space so the post reads easily on a phone.
  • Plain words over jargon, and specifics over general claims.
  • An ending that invites a reply or a clear next step.

The rewriter keeps your facts. It will not invent numbers, clients or results that were not in your original post.

Getting the most from a rewrite

Compare the rewrite with your original and keep the best of both. If a line from your draft sounds more like you, put it back with the inline editor. Run the rewrite again for a different take, or switch modes. Many writers improve a draft first, then make it punchier as a second pass.

If the post needs a stronger opening, try the Hook Generator for 10 alternative first lines, then paste your favorite back into your post.

Give old posts a second life

Your best ideas deserve more than one appearance. Look back at posts from six months or a year ago that did well, or ones you believe in that never got traction. Rewrite them with a fresh hook or a new tone, add what you have learned since, and post them again. Most of your current audience never saw the first version.

This also works across platforms. Shorten a LinkedIn post for X, or turn a long caption into a tight LinkedIn post. One good idea can fill a week of content.
